What this site collects directly
Clamber Knots sets no first-party accounts and asks for no personal information to read a page. If you email us at [email protected], we hold your address and the contents of your message only long enough to answer it, and we do not add it to a mailing list.
Advertising and Google AdSense
This site is supported by advertising. When advertising is enabled, third-party vendors including Google use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google uses the DoubleClick cookie to enable interest-based advertising; you can opt out of personalised advertising at any time in Google Ads Settings (google.com/settings/ads), or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info. Where required, a consent message is shown before any non-essential cookie is set, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time.
Your rights under the GDPR
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to data portability. The lawful bases we rely on are consent (for advertising cookies) and legitimate interests (for operating and securing the site). Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Your rights under the CCPA
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information. Requests can be made by email to [email protected], and we will verify and respond within the timescales the law requires.
Server logs and retention
The web server keeps standard access logs: IP address, requested path, referrer, user agent and status code. These are used to keep the site running, to detect abuse and to understand which entries are read, and they are rotated on the host on a rolling basis. Log data is not joined to any other information about you.
Analytics and third parties
Any analytics used here measure page views in aggregate and are not used to build a profile of an individual reader. Embedded content, if a page carries any, is loaded from the provider and is subject to that provider’s own privacy policy. Links to external sites are out of our control once you follow them.
Children
This site is written for adults doing craft work and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Clamber Knots publishes knot and pattern notes for craft use. Nothing here is engineering, climbing or load-rating advice; a decorative knot is not a life-safety knot.
